The Arts faculty teaches students to express themselves through the medium of Drama, Music and Visual Art.  Each area within the Arts has its individual challenges where students are encouraged to master various techniques and explore many different possibilities, taking them on a journey of personal awareness, self-expression and creative thinking.

Junior Secondary

Drama, students are exposed to various types of plays, they are provided with many opportunities to perform and improvise.  Students studying Music have the opportunity to master their skills on a chosen instrument, participate in performances, learn how to write simple compositions and develop their Aural Skills.  Visual Art gives students opportunities to explore their creative side through drawing, painting and ceramics.  In all three Arts subjects, students are taught specific skills and techniques which they can then manipulate to develop their own personal style.

Senior School

Senior Arts students are given the opportunity to build on what they have already learnt and master their creative skills in their chosen field.

In Senior Drama, students analyse various scripts, learn to write their own plays and participate in many rehearsals and performances. Visual Art students explore many different styles and techniques through analysis and then specialise in a specific area drawing on their creative talents to produce amazing works of art.  Students also have the opportunity to gain a Certificate II in Visual Arts.

Music students can choose to specialise in a specific field.  They perform in solo, small and large ensembles.  Students learn to develop their own style through Instrumental and vocal composition writing.  Music analysis and aural skills give students the knowledge to create and perform their own musical masterpieces.

Co-Curricular

Our Co- Curricular Music Program consists of Instrumental Music and Vocal Music.  We offer the following groups which rehearse once a week outside school hours.  These groups are often seen giving various public performances within the local community.
