Junior School
In Year 7 students will have the opportunity to create designed solutions aligning to the Australian Curriculum across three contexts: Design, Industrial Technology and Food and Fibre. Students will rotate through the different contexts across the course of a semester.
In Year 9 students can choose a combination of Design and Technologies subjects as electives. Electives include Design, Industrial Technology and Design, Hospitality and Fashion. Each area is aligned to the Australian Curriculum Design and Technologies achievement standards. Each elective runs for a semester and different Design and Technologies electives may be selected for Semester 1 and/or Semester 2.
Year 10 offers opportunities for students to start a Vocational pathway with a year-long course in Certificate l in Manufacturing. This course also contributes to the student's Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) points. Other offerings are based on the Australian Curriculum for Design and Technologies, include Engineering, Hospitality, Fashion and Design. Each subject runs for a full year.
Senior School
Senior School (Years 11/12) offers a wide range of VET
qualifications which include: Certificate II in Engineering, Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation, Certificate II in Hospitality and Certificate II in Furniture Making. Design and Technologies also offers Early Childhood Studies as an Applied subject and Design as a General subject. All subjects run for two years.
