Students are encouraged at every sports carnival to support their house colours and show their house spirit. We also hold a "House Spirit" Free Dress Day and run War Cry competitions to build team spirit. Go Bray!
We hold three major carnivals each year. Our Swimming Carnival is held in February, Cross Country held in March and Athletics Carnival held in June. Our school community can keep up to date on our carnivals by reading notices on Compass or following our school's Facebook page.

Extra-Curricular Sport Opportunities

Bray Park State High School offers a wide range of sporting programs designed to support student development, teamwork, and athletic excellence. Whether students are pursuing high-level competition or simply looking to stay active and involved, there’s a program for everyone.

Our current sporting teams and programs include:

  • F.A.S.T. Program – Future Athlete Specialist Training, supporting elite athlete development alongside academic success

  • Volleyball Excellence – Specialised training and competition for students passionate about volleyball

  • Rugby League – Strong team culture with skill development and competitive opportunities

  • Basketball – Coaching and competitions for all skill levels

  • Futsal/Soccer – Indoor and outdoor formats with a focus on skill and strategy

  • Netball – Team-based competition with development pathways

  • Oztag – Fast-paced, inclusive game that promotes fitness and teamwork

These programs offer students the opportunity to represent the school, build lifelong skills, and pursue sporting success in a supportive environment.

F.A.S.T. – Future Athlete Specialist Training Program

The F.A.S.T. program at Bray Park State High School helps students balance academic goals with sporting ambitions. It provides a supportive environment focused on sporting excellence and academic achievement, offering high-performance coaching and structured support.

Based on the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework, the program promotes physical preparation, skill development, and diverse sporting pathways for athletes of all levels.

Volleyball Excellence

The Volleyball Excellence Program at Bray Park SHS strives to create a community of student athletes who are committed to elevating both their volleyball skills and personal growth. With a focus on holistic development, we celebrate their passion for volleyball while embracing characteristics such as humility and teamwork. The program aims to foster an environment where every individual thrives on and off the court.

Rugby League

Bray Park State High School’s Rugby League program offers students the opportunity to compete in a range of high-quality competitions throughout the year. Our boys' teams in Years 7, 8, and 9 take part in the Struddy's Cup, while our Year 10 team competes in the Gee Shield as part of the prestigious Broncos Cup. The Opens boys’ team also represents the school in the DiVere Cup, another key Broncos Cup competition. In addition, our junior and senior boys participate in the Matt Gillett Cup, providing extra opportunities for development and competition. Our girls’ team, covering Years 7 to 12, proudly competes in the Karen Murphy Cup, a statewide competition promoting female participation in Rugby League. These competitions help foster teamwork, resilience, and sporting excellence across all year levels.

Basketball

Bray Park State High School’s Basketball Academy is an ever-growing program dedicated to developing skilled, confident, and team-focused athletes. We have numerous boys and girls teams who compete in a variety of competitions throughout the year, such as BOSL.

Futsal/Soccer

Bray Park State High School’s Futsal and Soccer teams are active participants in a range of competitions throughout the year. The season kicks off in March with our teams competing in the BOSL (Brisbane Outer Schools League) Futsal competition. Open to all ages and both boys and girls, we proudly field multiple teams across year levels. Our students also have the opportunity to compete in other major tournaments, such as the AFA Futsal Titles, Bill Turner Cup, Respect Cup, and Uhl Sport Cup. These competitions provide valuable experience, skill development, and the chance to represent the school at a high level. The program continues to grow each year, promoting teamwork, fitness, and school spirit.

Netball

Bray Park State High School’s Netball teams compete proudly throughout the year, with our key event in Term 3 at the Vicki Wilson Competition. Our netball team offers students the chance to develop their skills, teamwork, and competitive spirit and is open to a range of year levels, our teams participate in local interschool competitions and represent the school with pride and determination. Players receive guidance from experienced coaches, focusing on both individual skill development and effective team play. The Netball program encourages students to stay active, build confidence, and form strong friendships on and off the court. With growing interest each year, our Netball teams continue to strengthen Bray Park’s sporting reputation in the region.

Oztag

Bray Park State High School’s OzTag program offers students a fun, fast-paced, and inclusive sporting experience. Each year in July, our teams proudly compete in the All Schools OzTag competition, showcasing skill, teamwork, and school spirit. We currently field teams in Year 8 Mixed, Year 9 Girls, Year 10 Mixed, Year 11 Mixed, and Year 12 Mixed, providing opportunities for students across multiple year levels to get involved. The program promotes fitness, coordination, and positive team culture in a supportive environment. With growing participation and enthusiasm each year, OzTag has become a popular and valued part of our school's sporting calendar.​
